This article explains how certification validity works, including lifetime certifications, renewal policies, CPE information, employer renewal requirements, and certificate re-issuance limitations.
Our certifications are lifetime credentials that reflect the original date you successfully passed the certification exam.
Do Certifications Expire?
Our certifications currently do not expire.
At this time:
• No renewal process is required
• No Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits are required
• There are no ongoing maintenance requirements associated with these certifications
If your Credly badge incorrectly displays an expiration date, please contact Support and the badge can be reviewed and updated manually.
CSOM Certification
CSOM certification policies are currently under review.
While renewal or CPE requirements may be introduced in the future, there is currently:
• No expiration policy
• No active renewal requirement
Any future policy changes will be communicated separately if introduced.
CPE (Continuing Professional Education) Credits
We do not currently issue formal CPE documentation or predefined credit hours for our certifications.
However, many customers have successfully claimed CPE/ECE credits through organizations such as:
• ISC2
• GIAC
• EC-Council
• SANS
This is typically done by submitting their course completion or certification documentation directly to the relevant organization's CPE submission portal.
Customers may be asked to provide:
• Course or certification name
• Completion certificate
• Training description
• Estimated training hours
Important:
• Approval and awarded credits are determined entirely by the receiving organization
• We cannot guarantee CPE approval or a specific number of credits
Some customers have reported receiving up to 40 CPEs for certifications such as CSOM.
We may introduce a formal CPE framework in the future, and any updates will be communicated separately.
Certificate Re-Issuance & Employer Renewal Requests
Certificates are permanently issued using the original exam passing date and cannot be modified once issued.
Because of this, we cannot:
• Re-issue certificates with updated dates
• Add renewal, validity, or extension notes to existing certificates
• Provide discounted or standalone re-certification exam attempts
Some employers require certifications to be renewed periodically, even when the certification provider treats them as a lifetime credential.
If your employer requires a newly issued certificate date, the only available option is to:
• Repurchase the certification
• Complete the exam again
• Receive a new certificate with a new passing date
Important:
This policy applies to all certified users and all paid certification courses.
